Outside….

These pictures show why I haven’t posted many of our garden.  This is just the second year of our official vegetable patch though we have grown a few in other parts of the garden before.  The fence behind my men always shows up in the photos and it isn’t pretty.   Last week I painted the fence and we set to getting that jungle infront of the fence sorted.  It was an area where we had removed hedges from years ago as they were the boundary from the houses behind us before our house was built.  ie there was a field where we now live.

Thankfully the fence looks much better, the rocks are in situ, I’m really pleased with the border and the plants are now planted.  We are glad to have another area of our little garden sorted.

My favourites are this weeping willow I see they can really need a frequent hair cut!

I just love that this particular one is called Kilmarnock!

I’m also interested in what happens with this Hydrangea I brought this round from my fathers house where it has been for approximately 34 years, since my parents moved into that house.  They brought a few from my paternal grandfathers house way back then and never had room for this one. Now it’s out of the pot it should grow as big as the rest and I can’t wait to see what colour the bloom is!

Now I’m wondering what size my little plants will be next year and what area of the outside to tackle next :-)

What are you doing in your garden these days?

    Looks great!

When the garden looks like that, it’s such a feeling of satisfaction, isn’t it?

I loved having a garden in the past. I hope yours continues to do well.
The fence area looks really good.

I’ve not heard of a [I'm not sure I'm gonna spell this correctly - ] Kilmarnock…I will HAVE to go to Google to read up on it.

As I love to garden your show n tell was tops!! Good luck with them all. And a few weeks down the line, I hope you share another Show n Tell with their progress!

My “garden” needs some serious attention! In fact, I am heading out to do yard work as soon as my laundry can be transferred to the dryer. I have my rose bushes which need to be dead headed and weeds pulled from their beds. It never ends and since it’s miserably hot here in Texas, you have to get started early in the morning! My Hydrangea bush is looking pretty lovely this year as is my Gardenia bush! (it didn’t even bloom last year!)

You have a beautiful looking garden :) This is my first year trying out my green thumb, and hopefully it doesn’t flop!
That’s a nice color for the fence too ;)

My sister who denies being green fingered moved a large hydrangea from one part of her 1930’s garden to another without any problem.

The border looks lovely. I planted a hydrangea last year that I got from Mum and Dad’s garden. It’s doing fine but as yet there are no blooms on it. I’m looking forward to see what colour it’s going to be too!

I don’t have a garden — just a few rose bushes and hanging baskets — but it looks like yours is off to a great start with all kinds of neat things in store for the weeks to come!
