I don’t often post on Sunday but I’m thinking again of my cousin who heads off this week on his trip. If you haven’t already checked out where he is going and what on earth for please do, and don’t forget to wish him well from his friends at “Home but not Alone”.
Will your anchor hold
Will you anchor hold in the storms of life,
When the clouds unfold their wings of strife?
When the strong tides lift, and the cables strain
Will your anchor hold, or firm remain?
Chorus
We have an anchor that keeps the soul
Steadfast and sure while the billows roll;
Fastened to the rock which cannot move,
Grounded firm and deep in the Saviour’s love!
Will your anchor hold in the straits of fear?
When the breakers roar and the reef is near;
While surges rave, and the wild winds blow,
Shall the angry waves then your bark o’er flow?
Chorus
Will your anchor hold in the floods of death,
When the waters cold chill your latest breath?
On the rising tide you can never fail
Will your anchor hold within the veil?
Chorus
Will your eyes behold through the morning light
The city of gold and the harbour bright?
Will your anchor safe by the heavenly shore,
When life’s storms are past for evermore?
Chorus
Mummymac.

I grew up singing this, and it always encourages me. Thanks for posting it; I’ll probably be singing it the rest of the day…

a couple of weeks ago I was at a service to cellebrate 125 years of the BB and as we sang this hymn I realised that it was the fact I have the anchor, as by the hymn, that keeps me so positive in life. in january this year my MS progressed to the extent that I am now in a whealchair. the anchor does not stoplifes storms but it can hold us fast during them, what a blessing.
