The new look comes compliments of Lisa at “our Apples of Gold“.
I won the new header in the F’all Y’all Bloggy giveaway, I’m thrilled with my new image
THANKS LISA!
If you want to revamp your blog go check out some of Lisa’s ideas. She’ll do anything although these are mostly Christmas themes.
The other item I won during the giveaway is this book Created To Be His Help Meet, which I recently received from Tammy at A Fruitful Vine.
Thanks so much to Tammy for being willing to give away such a nice book and also to pay postage for it to Northern Ireland
I didn’t know anything about this book but have to say it is certainly a lovely gift. It’s been added to my - really must read list.
I’d love to hear what you think of the new look and if you’ve read “Created To Be His Help Meet” let me know what you thought of it too.
Cheers……

Shannon is having a themed WFMW to-day and the theme is TWDIFE (The “What do I fix edition?”).
To quote Shannon this means “It’s 5:15 pm, the kids are hungry, you have a headache, hubby is almost home, and the pantry has three things in it. What is your BEST last-minute meal recipe? Share with everybody this week”.
One of the real cop out meals in this house is Fritatta. Like if you’ve got a carton (or two) of eggs in the house and something to throw at them, your winning.
So our rules for Fritatta are - oh yea there are no rules.
Mix up your eggs as if your making an omelette. Get the pan on, add whatever else you have in your fridge to the pan ie.
bacon, onion, tomato, mushrooms, corn, peppers, ham, chicken, the list is surely endless….
then when these things are cooked through add your eggs and cook through - I sometimes finish off the top under the grill.
Easy.
Check out over at Shannon’s for a whole host of last minute recipes.

I’m actually quite enjoying the bloggy break. I hadn’t intended posting until the decorating was finished but as I’ve had a few e-mails saying how much you like the new look I thought I better let you know this isn’t the finished product. It’s just the undercoat!!
My technical adviser is working on the finer details so - you never know we may be live soon.
I’ve been interested in how the blog scene changes in the run up to the festivities. Many blogs change their look for Christmas and are big into celebrating. Others give off the odd rant and play down the silly season frolics.
I’m hoping to have a balance here
I have always been the party pooper at Christmas and it seems as the years go on I can think of more and more reasons to keep a low profile.
I mean we do the presents, turkey, tree, Christmas Pudding thing, it’s just the preparing for one day’s celebrations for about 100 days beforehand that I can’t be having.
Christmas is a time for families, for celebration, giving and receiving, it should be a happy time, but we live in a fallen world. Carla wrote a great post on this last week.
Kim who blogs at The Upward Call also has some interesting thoughts, readers who know me may think I wrote this.
Having said that I thought this blog may interest you. Lisa is having a Christmas Celebration where you will get the chance to see bloggers who do know how to change their headers with the season, share Christmas recipes, craft ideas and also stories appropriate for the season.
She is celebrating at her blog for the whole month.
That’s enough browsing for one afternoon.
Blessings to you in the run-up to the festivities.
