Release Hannah Overton….

Thanks to Daniel at Reformed Covenanter for bringing my attention to the above cause. (Daniel is a fellow Northern Ireland Blogger folks – please be sure to check out his extensive side-bar links for some of the best Reformed sites).

Hannah Overton is a Christian home-schooling mother of 5 who has been jailed after the accidental death of her son.

She has been found guilty of failing to discern the signs of salt intoxication from the signs of common flu!

Please check out the full story at Daniel’s blog. This family need our prayers.

You can also access the family home page here.

Christian parents beware, this Godly woman’s faith was used against her as the prosecution sought to make her out to be a religious sociopath.

Be sure to read Hannah’s letter to her family after the verdict, surely this is every parents nightmare.

Please pray for this family and also for Pastor John Otis who is unrelated to the Overton’s church but is campaigning to see justice prevail.

Mummymac.

I am Hannah’s aunt. Thank you so much for your prayers. Please pray that her appeal will be granted. Also, please go to the website http://www.freehannah.com and sign in as a guest. We are trying to discern how many people are aware of her case and care about her.

The 20/20 piece broke my heart for her and her family, and for Matthew! She’s so obviously not guilty. The jury was misguided, and the prosecutor’s story doesn’t make any sense. I will be praying for them. How incredibly unfair to take her away from her new baby and family. It completely broke my heart. But God is soveriegn, and faithful.

I have watched many 20/20 shows and the like and have never been so outraged that I was prompted to write an email. It was completely apparent to me from the show tonight that Hannah was falsely accused. I do not know this family and have never heard of this case before tonight, but I am absolutely heartbroken regarding her wrongful conviction. I will pray with confidence that justice will prevail and she will be released from prison.

When I watched this I wanted to immediately take action. This woman is not guilty. I don’t know what to do or how to help, but I want to know. Thinking about her sitting in prison away from her family breaks my heart. Its the most impossible thing to do, I would know, my husband is sitting in prison right now. The differenence she is sitting there and has done absolutely nothing wrong. I belive God sees that and will let her go home when the time is right.

Hannah is obviously innocent. Our judicial system is broken in many ways. It is sad. Without the “free” press, we would be in even greater peril.
    Thanks ABC.
Thanks God, because you will free Hannah soon and raise up the Christlike spirit manifest through her tone of voice, the gleam in her eyes, the precious smile she has, the kindness oozing from the essence of this fine young woman.
In a way, it is possible to understand how others could fail to see the beauty in her soul, for it is so rare. The sweet fragrance of her life is a pungent and unwelcome reminder of the mortality to those who are perishing without hope.

I have just watched 20/20 and I am so heartbroken. This poor woman is sitting in prison for something she did not do. I am completly outraged. I dont know how that dumb blonde prosecutor sleeps at night. She needs to pay! I have never felt so bad for anyone in my life. Those poor children are going to grow up without there mother now because some IDIOT jurors. If there is any way I can help I would love to. My email is mhajec@yahoo.com I am praying for the family and friends and that she is awarded a new trial… because we ALL know she deserves it! God Bless!

I just finished watching20/20, and I feel torn up. Hannah Overton is obviously a loving mother, and her husband is a strong and valiant soul to take care of the children and all of their confusion and heartbreak alone while their mommy is kept from them. I don’t have much religion, but I’ll offer up my weak prayers for that family.
I keep hearing horror stories from Texas. What is the deal on that state? Did a disproportionate number of hateful people settle there? It seems to be the capital of Cruel.

I just pray this terrible injustice is righted soon. This story is a nightmare!!! She is so innocent. The DA says she sleeps good at night, well she is a cold hearted woman for sure!!!
